From above, the unique landscape of Fuerteventura reminds of a moonscape, red brownish ground, vulcanos and except some palm trees and aloe vera plantations just little vegetation. Reason for that is amongst others the low rainfall on the island. But that´s exactly what makes Fuerteventura so particular; the scenic landscape with almost endless farsightedness. Here you can relax and free your mind of everyday stress.
But the ones who think now that Fuerteventura has no live in nature, is wrong. The native flora and fauna is versatile, unique and surprisingly beautiful.
Another characteristic point are the endless, dreamlike beaches with white sand and turquoise water. The mild climate throughout the whole year and enjoyable water temperatures make you wanna have a bath in the ocean even in winter.
Additionally, in the north of the island there is the Parque Natural, a desert or dune landscape situated south of Corralejo, which is a natural reserve are.
The highest vulcano with aprox. 800 m is located in the south oft he island, in the north the vulcanic mountains reach an altitude up to 700 m.
